When I got the Panthean Cuisses, I thought their armored look might help in my quest to make a knight-themed glamour for Bard, a way to reflect that my character combines her archery with her swordplay. The Crystarium Composite Bow works best for the look since it's a bow with a sword on the quiver, but all physical ranged jobs can equip the outfit.
